SOUTHBURY- Barbara Ann (Lynn) Blum, age 90, a longtime CT resident, passed away on January 2, 2021 at The Watermark on East Hill in Southbury, CT. after a brief illness She was the widow of Raymond Thomas Blum whom she married in 1950. He was the love of her life just as she was the center of his universe.
Barbara was born June 25, 1930 to the late Rosetta Foster Lynn and Benjamin Harrison Lynn. She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in Watertown. She was a nurse who most enjoyed working with children. She was a past president of the DAR; a lifetime member of the Mayflower Society; a certified genealogist and loved researching family history. She enjoyed hiking, skiing, traveling and camping and passed on her love of the outdoors to her children. She was a fiercely independent, modern day woman advocating for handicap parking accommodations and senior dietary needs. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Left to honor Barbara's love and legacy, are her three children: Geri Bailey and husband Mark; Steve and his fiancée Maggie; Ray and his wife Sue; her beloved grandchildren: Matt Blum, Ashley Gray, Kristen Blum, Sean Bailey, and Zach Blum; her great granddaughter Eleni Wachter; her sisters: Joan Blum and husband Alan (Skip); Peggy Lynn and Janice Frenger; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers: Robert and Foster Donald Lynn; her sisters: Hazel Perkins, Doris Foran, Phyllis Erling, and Elizabeth (Betty) Vaughn.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Blum will be held at The First Congregational Church, Watertown at a later date, to be announced. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St Oakville, CT 06779 has been honored to assist the Blum family during this difficult time.
