NAPLES, FL- It is with profound sadness that the family of Barbara Jean (Carroll) Conlan, age 76, share the news of her peaceful passing on Sunday March 23, 2025 at Vitas Inpatient Hospice Unit in Naples, FL., surrounded by the love and comfort of her loving family. She was the widow of the late Pierce M. Conlan.
Barbara was born on July 26, 1948 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Tom and Lillian (Chevre) Carroll. She was raised and lived in Waterbury for 69 years before moving to Naples, FL in 2019 where she lived in the Glades Country Club. Barbara and her late husband Pierce enjoyed the Naples beach and participating in community activities like bingo, bocce and Sunday Happy Hours and she loved her afternoons floating in the pool with her friends. She graduated from Crosby High School, was employed as a Human Resource Associate at Waterbury Hospital for 36 years before retiring in 2013. She was a member of the Farmingbury Women’s Golf League in Wolcott and the Waterbury Junior Women’s Club. She loved being an active member of the “Card Club” – a close group of friends who would gather weekly for friendship, fun and food. She was full of adventures and loved to travel. She enjoyed sports and was a loyal supporter of the UConn Huskies and an unwavering supporter of the college softball teams her daughter coached. Barbara will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
