WATERBURY - Barbara Ann Dean, age 71 of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 4th, 2016 at her home surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a brief illness. She was the wife of John Dean.
Mrs. Dean was born December 16th, 1944 in Dothan, Alabama the daughter of the late Charlie E. Hayes and Reba L. (Snailgrove) Cherry. She grew up in Alabama and has lived in Connecticut since 1971 when she met John, the love of her life. She worked as a supervisor for area manufacturing companies and enjoyed shopping and taking trips to Alabama.
Besides her husband, John of 38 years, Barbara is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Foster of Norwich CT, Catherine Shaker of Maine, Karen Rosa and her husband, Robert of Waterbury, and Sharon Doner of Bristol, VT, her step son, Robert Dean of Oakville as well as her three brothers, two sisters, fifteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her step son, Michael Dean, her granddaughter, Patricia Morgan and her two brothers Allen Hayes and Donnie Cherry.
Relatives and friends may visit with Barbara's family at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury, CT. Thursday, January 7th from 6:00~8:00pm. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Alabama.
