WATERBURY – Mrs. Barbara M. Guzoski, age 84, of Waterbury passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on Thursday, October 19, 2023. She was the wife of John L. Guzoski.
Barbara was born on May 1, 1939, in Waterbury. She was the daughter of the late Bartholmew and Nellie (Fleming) Russett. She worked as an Assembler at Airpax in Cheshire for 35 years until her retirement. Barbara loved her summer home in Ocean City MD. She loved going to the beach, crabbing, clamming, and sipping on her Chardonnay at Fish Tails while lounging in the swings watching the sunset. She mostly enjoyed her girls weekend getaways with her daughter, granddaughters, and great grandchildren. She also loved arts crafts, especially crocheting blankets for those she loved. She was exceptional in almost every way, but she excelled the most at being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Our family thanks you Mom for the many sacrifices you made for us, for every prayer you uttered for us, and for the unconditional love you instilled in us. Her favorite quote was, “And this too shall pass.” Barbara will be deeply missed, but her warmth, kindness, and generosity will be forever remembered by all who were blessed to know and love her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Jack of 67 years, her daughter Terri Lynn and husband, Michael Costin of Thomaston, CT, and her son Gary and wife Maria Guzoski of Brownsville, TX. Barbara was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren: Kristina Potsko and husband Jared, Kara Coutu and husband Jonathan, Jessica Wilhite and husband Mikah, and Garrett Guzoski and fiancé Kelly Linstrom. She was also blessed with 6 beautiful great grandchildren: Abigail, Carter, Jackson, Cole, Emma, and Natalie.
