Waterbury- Mrs. Barbara J. Reilly age 76 of Waterbury passed away peacefully at the
Cheshire House in Waterbury on Sunday May 7, 2017 after an extended illness. She was
the former wife of John P. Reilly.
Barbara was born January 4, 1941, daughter of the late Frederick and Della (Tautkas)
Aitchison. She was raised and educated in Oakville and spent many years working in the
banking/mortgage industry for several area banks. She enjoyed going to the movies,
dining out, and playing cards with her friends. She loved spending time with her family
especially during the holidays where she enjoyed playing cards games. Barbara also
enjoyed spending time at the pool and traveling to Florida with her sister. What was most
important to her was her 8 beloved grandchildren. She not only cherished spending time
with them but she always looked forward to attending their events.
The Reilly family would like to thank and acknowledge Doctor Philip Mongelluzzo,
Stanley DeCosta and the staff of the Cheshire House for all the love, care, and support
they provided to Barbara and her family during her illness.
Among her survivors are her children, Kevin Reilly and his wife Gerilynn of Waterbury,
Brian Reilly and his wife Suzanne of Southington, Sean Reilly of Wolcott, Mark Reilly of
Southington, Karen Nadolny and her husband Raymond of Watertown, Megan Plourde
and her husband Michael of Branford, her brother Robert Aitchison and his wife Monique
of Glastonbury; her sister Linda Fraychak and her husband Michael of FL, her brother
and sister-in-law, Brian and Jaclyn Reilly of Waterbury; her 8 grandchildren, Madison,
Riley, Aidan, Colin, Liam, Mimi, Parker and Sailor as well as several nieces and nephews
and Daren Mauro who Barbara considered to be part of the family. She is predeceased by
her brothers Frederick and George Aitchison.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Reilly will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 9:30 am from
Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. to SS
Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd. Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian
Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury relatives and
friends may visit with Mrs. Reilly's family on Wednesday evening at the funeral home
