Army veteran, longtime letter carrier
WATERTOWN — Bernard Lawlor, 93, passed away on Oct. 21, 2022, 27 days after the love of his wife, Diana.
Bernie was born on April 5, 1929, the son of the late Michael and Nellie Lawlor. Left to honor and adore his memory are his son Kevin, and daughter-in-law Chris Lawlor of Watertown; his grandchildren Ryan (Jaclyn) Lawlor and Randi (Tyler) Whitley, both of Watertown; his great-granddaughters Brice and Quinn Lawlor, and Emma and Fae Whitley.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Tom, Joe, Ed, Jack, Marie, Margie and Helen.
Bernie was a graduate of Crosby High School and Trinity College. He was a standout athlete playing baseball, basketball and football. He had a great passion for playing golf and never missed any of his son or grandchildren’s activities.
He served two years in the Korean War stationed in Berlin, Germany. Bernie was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for 40 years.
