AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
WATERBURY Beverly Ruth Currie age 75, of Shadee Lane Waterbury, passed peacefully at Paradigm Health Care Center of Waterbury on Monday December 10, 2012 after a long battle with her illness. She was the widow of Frederick Currie.
Mrs. Currie was born November 18th 1937 in Hartford, CT. She attended local schools and worked for the State of CT, Department of Children and Families as a foster parent. Beverly was known as "mama" by many. She enjoyed mentoring and raising children helping to provide them with a loving, caring and healthy living environment. Beverly had a heart of gold. Never judging one by what they had done or what they needed. Beverly's kind, loving heart touched many children and impacted many lives. She was a dog lover as well. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, making hats, mittens, and scarfs for everyone. Beverly's love will be missed but never forgotten.
Among her survivors are her sons; Jack Batista, Joseph Currie and Todd Currie all of Waterbury, her daughter, Johanna Currie of Waterbury and her six grandchildren, Todd (TJ) Currie, Michael Currie, Vincent Currie, Brooke Currie, John Batista, and Britney Batista. She was predeceased by her son, Louie.
Calling hours for Mrs. Currie will be held on Friday December 14th, from 5:00-7:00p.m. at the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St. Waterbury Funeral Services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
