Brenda was born on February 16, 1961 in Torrington, the daughter of the late William Dean and Beatrice (Lusa) Miller. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Torrington High School. She advanced her studies attaining her associate’s degree in nursing from Naugatuck Valley Community College. She worked for 18 years as an R.N. at St Mary’s Hospital where she touched hundreds of lives caring for the sick. She excelled in her profession and made many great friends and colleagues at St. Mary’s. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed exercising and making people laugh and you never had to guess what she was thinking. Brenda was exceptional in almost every way, but she excelled the most at being a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed but her warmth, quick wit, and strength will be forever remembered by all who were blessed to know and love her. May the memory of her be everlasting.
Left to honor her memory besides her devoted husband, Ed, are her children; daughter Cara Anne Jamele and her husband Anthony of Seymour, son, Edward Mahony Jr and his fiancé Sarah Reilly of Waterbury, her brother; William Scapin of Barkhamsted, sisters; Liana Scapin, Lisa Scapin and Beverly Dean all of Torrington and Marsha Hassig of FL. Brenda and Edward were blessed with a special granddaughter, Ryann Anne Jamele. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends especially her very best friend, Robin Williams Vieira. Brenda was predeceased by James Dean and Marie Trivaudey.
