Loved spending time with his family and being by the water
WEST HAVEN -Mr. Bruce A. Jones, 65, formerly of Waterbury, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his wife and daughter. He was the loving husband of Tassoula Nicolaou-Jones.
Bruce was born on November 24, 1955, on Thanksgiving Day in Waterbury, CT. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William and Eleanor (Hayre) Morring Sr. Bruce was predeceased by his biological father, John Jones. Bruce was employed as a Senior Custodian at Yale University, which is where he met his wife 15 years ago. Growing up Bruce found joy in playing the drums, reading, writing poetry and teaching the word of God. Most recently you could always catch Bruce sitting by the television watching a game and enjoying the peace of his home. His family will fondly miss catching him licking his fingers clean after devouring a good piece of steak. Bruce loved to spend time with his family and friends, and nothing made him happier than when they would visit his home in West Haven. He enjoyed dressing up in his suits and matching shoes and always looked good wherever he went. He was most at peace at the beach where he enjoyed watching the tide come in and out.
Left to cherish his memory besides his wife Tassoula are his daughter's, Unique Buccini and Sharmen Jones as well as his daughter in love, Chantell Chapman in addition to his nine grandchildren, Jayson, Devon, Nyzair, Keon, Jyair, Jailyn, Nahzere, Semara, and Mark. Bruce is also survived by his siblings, Rubia (Horace) Pruden, Melinda (Bryant) Blanchard, William Morring Jr.(Hickory, NC) Stephen Morring, Beth Morring, Stephanie Morring, Darien Jones and Althea Jones. He now joins his brother, Duane Jones in Heaven.
A memorial Service for Mr. Jones will be held on Wednesday February 10th 2021 at 5:00pm at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705. Relatives and friends may visit with Bruce's family at the funeral home for a walkthrough visitation from 4:00pm until the time of the service at 5:00pm. All governmental restrictions related to covid#19 will be strictly enforced.
