OAKVILLE - Carl Amadio age 92 of Oakville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 30th at Rose Haven Health Care Center in Litchfield surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a short illness. He was the widower of Julia (Monte) Amadio
Carl was born August 22, 1925 in Mishawaka Indiana where he attended local schools. Carl who was affectionately known as Uncle Carl to everyone and spent many years working as an automotive parts sales clerk for several area auto part stores until his retirement. He enjoyed duck pin bowling at Perillo's and was an avid coin collector. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time at his niece Donna's home with her family and their beloved dogs.
Among his survivors are his cousins, brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Those who he shared his life with are his niece and nephew, Donna Parent and her husband, Michael, Frank Lerz Jr and his girlfriend, Debbie Hankey as well as his great nieces and nephews; Mike Parent Jr., and his fiancé Bridget Powers, Michelle Perry and her husband Dan and their son, Carl's great-great nephew Daniel, Frankie Lerz III, Joey Lerz, and his wife Lisa and their daughter, Carl's great-great niece Sydney.
Carl was predeceased by his brother in laws, sister in laws and by his sister in law Mary Lerz and her husband Frank Lerz Sr. who was Carl's best friend, the two were inseparable. Carl was an only child and Frank was like a brother to him.
Funeral services for Mr. Amadio will be held today at 11:00am at Calvary Cemetery 2324 East Main St Waterbury. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery office.
