Waterbury - Carmen Rodriguez, age 82 of Waterbury, passed away on January 1st 2017 at Saint Mary's Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a brief illness. She was the wife of Juan Rodriguez Cruz.
Carmen was born June 5th 1934 in Guanica, Puerto Rico the daughter of the late Angel Antonio Pancorbo and Rosa Flores. She moved to the US as a teenager and spent many years working as a supervisor for the Waterbury Garment Company before her retirement. Carmen enjoyed playing dominos, cooking, and baking and was always happiest while surrounding herself with her family and entertaining her friends.
Besides her husband Juan, Carmen is survived by her son, John Rodriguez and his wife, Annamarie of Newington, her daughter, Diane Rodriguez of Waterbury, her sisters, Ada Pancorbo of Waterbury Velia Pancorbo of Guanica, Puerto Rico. She is also survived by her grandchildren, David Rodriguez, Stephanine Serrano, Walter Rodriguez Jr. Mayra Rodriguez and Hazel Rodriguez in addition to numerous great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including Eunice McDougall of Waterbury. She is predeceased by her son Walter Rodriguez her brother Walter Pancorbo her sisters Ana Pancorbo and Miriam Pancorbo and her grandchildren Angel Anthony Mejil, Mildred Rodriguez, and Johnathan Rodriguez.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Rodriguez will be held on Thursday January 5th 2017 at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
