WATERBURY - Carmen Iris Vargas, 68 of Waterbury, Conn, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021. She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on November 21, 1953.
Carmen was the life of the party, her entrance alone could brighten up the room. She was known for wearing elaborate makeup and jewelry. She adored her family and was very passionate about her children and grandchildren. Carmen dedicated her life to her children and siblings. She enjoyed get-togethers and intimate moments with her family. There was never a moment when she wasn't a loving, caring, and thoughtful person. She loved to sing, do crafts, tell jokes, play bingo, watch mystery movies and listen to music. She will be missed dearly but her memories will live on forever in our hearts.
She is survived by the father of her children and beloved friend Miguel Vargas, sons Emanuel (Manny) Vargas and Jose (Che) Vargas, her daughter Anaisa (Isha) Vargas, her stepchildren Michael Vargas and Melissa Vargas, and her two daughter-in-laws Danielle Vargas and Kristiann Vargas. She also leaves behind her 18 grand children. 10 siblings Evelyn Gonzalez, Miriam Gonzalez, Juan Carlos Santiago, Jesus (Chino) Luciano, Haydee Santiago, Ely Gonzalez, Jose Santiago, Oscar Gonzalez, and William Gonzalez. Several cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Vargas will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1987 East Main St Waterbury. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with the Vargas family on Thursday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. We continue to remain very concerned about the ongoing pandemic so masks will be required during all indoor services whether you are vaccinated or not..
