Carolyn "Kiki" L. Tehan

THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF CAROLYN "KIKI" TEHAN.

WATERBURY - Carolyn L. (Lawlor) "Kiki" Tehan, age 79 of Waterbury passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after an extended illness. She was the devoted wife of Martin M. Tehan Sr.



Kiki was born on January 30, 1940 in Waterbury CT, the daughter of the late Peter and Carolyn (Pollard) Lawlor. She was a graduate of St Francis Xavier Grammar School and Waterbury Catholic High School. She was a standout athlete in High School and excelled in basketball. She worked for many years as a Medical Transcriptionist at Waterbury Hospital. She also worked at the Bristol Company. Her love of sports in school carried on through her life as she was an avid UConn Women's Basketball and Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed sports of all kinds on TV. She enjoyed occasional trips to the casino but what was most important to Kiki was her family as she was a devoted and loving, wife, mother and grandmother. You could always depend on her being at all of the kids sporting events, the consummate cheerleader. She was truly one of a kind, #TNT TallNTerrific. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.



Besides her loving husband of 57 years, she leaves her children, Martin M Tehan Jr and his wife Phyllis of Watertown, Robert Tehan of St Augustine FL, Peter Tehan of Waterbury, Carolyn "Kiki" Carroza and her husband, Peter of Oakville, and her other son John Brown of Oakville. She also leaves her grandchildren, Martin M Tehan III, Kyle William Tehan, Carlye Anne Tehan, Jake Martin Tehan, Matthew Robert Tehan and Jillian Ann Carroza. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Patricia Lawlor of Naugatuck and many nieces, nephews, and friends whom she loved dearly. Kiki was predeceased by her siblings, Madeline McGrath, Patricia Nanfito and Peter Lawlor.


The family would also like to thank Waterbury Hospital ER staff and Vitas as well as Pom 4 and Pom 9 nurses and staff.



Funeral Services for Mrs. Tehan will be held on Wednesday March 20, 2019 at 9:30 am from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to St Francis Xavier Church to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
