AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME
WATERTOWN - Carroll E. Retallick, age 89, of Thomaston Rd Watertown and Hobe Sound Florida, died peacefully Tuesday, April 5th surrounded by his loving family at the Middlebury Convalescent Center. He was the widow of Lucille (Healey) Retallick.

Mr. Retallick was born September 16, 1921 in Torrington CT, the son of the late Frank and Lillian (Churchill) Retallick, the apple of his parent's eye. He was raised in Bantam CT and was a graduate of Litchfield High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he proudly served his country during WWII as a Sergeant with the 1st Marine Division. After returning home from the service he attended Rhodes Preparatory School in NYC and graduated from UCONN with a degree in accounting. While attending UCONN he met the love of his life Lucille and enjoyed a loving marriage that lasted 56 years. He was a longtime employee of Risdon Manufacturing where he worked as a CPA and Treasurer. Carroll was affectionately known by his friends and loved ones as "Red" because of his red hair. He had a extremely high work ethic and enjoyed gardening and remodeling.

Among his survivors are his two sons, Richard Retallick and his wife Cynthia of West Hartford, and Robert Retallick and his wife Lisa of Watertown, his two daughters, Karen FitzPatrick and her husband Robert of Middletown, NY and Judith Sturges of Litchfield. He also leaves a sister, Alice O'Brien of Palm Beach Gardens FL and his ten grandchildren, Thomas Sturges III, Allyson Sturges-Rafferty, Timothy, Daniel, and Katie FitzPatrick, Robert FitzPatrick and his wife Jennifer, Andrew, Elizabeth, Lily, and Adam Retallick. As well as his three great grandchildren Collin, & Jackson Sturges, and Ryan FitzPatrick. He was also expecting two new great granddaughters shortly.

A memorial service for Mr. Retallick will held on Saturday April 9th 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church 305 Main St Watertown. There are no calling hours. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Retallick may be to The United Methodist Church of Watertown 305 Main St Watertown, CT 06795.
