WATERBURY - Cecile "Ceil" (Fontaine) Charpentier, age 82 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness.

Ceil was born on April 4, 1936 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Edouard and Lucella (Boucher) Fontaine. She graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School as Class Valedictorian. For 35 years, Ceil worked at St. Anne's Church, where she officially served as Secretary but was the "anchor" of the parish with her passion for liturgy, ongoing church renovations and as a financial administrator for both the school and the church. Ceil lived her life as a thoughtful, loving, independent, vibrant, passionate and incredibly caring woman, dedicated to her family, friends and faith. She loved her family-oriented traditions and never missed an opportunity to remember an important date, anniversary, birthday, or special occasion for those she cared and loved dearly both near and far. She was a true patriot who loved her country, nurtured amazing flowers and plants, celebrated butterflies and was an avid fan of UConn Women's basketball and the Boston Red Sox. Following her retirement, Ceil became a long-time member parishioner of St. Leo the Great parish, where she was an active participant of the Ladies Guild and involved in many of the church activities. Ceil will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Ceil leaves her beloved children; daughters; Diane Turek and her husband, Andy of Southington, Evelyn Harmon and her husband, Jim of Franklin MA, her sons; Mark Charpentier of Waterbury and Paul Charpentier and his wife, Holly of Kingsburg CA. She also leaves her brother, Ray Fontaine and his wife, Carol of Southbury and her grandchildren; Danielle and Jason Turek, Michael (Colleen), Andrew (Hayley) Harmon and Jeremy Harmon, Nicole and Natalie Charpentier, Mallory, Connor and Maryn Charpentier and her great granddaughters; Yara Harmon and Emma Harmon as well as many special lifelong friends, nieces, and nephews. Ceil is predeceased by her brothers Roland, Henry and Roger Fontaine.
