WATERBURY Charles Gilbert Eldredge Jr.- age 61, of Stonefield Dr., Waterbury, known to his family as "Charlie", died unexpectedly but peacefully, at his home on May 5, 2010. He was the husband of Danna (Swentik) Eldredge.
Charlie was born September 15th 1948 in New London, CT, the son of the late Charles and Ruth (Lowe) Eldredge. Charlie began his distinguished Naval career as a Seaman Recruit (E-1) and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement from active duty, he served as a Career Counselor with the US Navy and obtained the rank of Senior Chief (E-8). More recently he worked as a manger at McDonalds until he was unable to continue employment due to illness.
Besides his wife Danna, of 40 years, Charlie is survived by his son Charles (Bill) Eldredge, and his wife Sandy of Waterbury and their son Niklas, his daughter Danna Chambers, and her husband Scott of Topsham, Maine, and their children Shiloh, and Caitlin.
Services for Mr. Eldredge will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
