WATERBURY CT Charles F. Ubaldi, age 77, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the comfort and love of his family, on April 14, 2105. He was the husband of Joanne (DeRienzo) Ubaldi
Charles was born August 2, 1937 in Waterbury, the son of the late Angelo and Philomena (Caputo) Ubaldi. He was a graduate of Maloney School and Wilby High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1955 - 1957. During part of his tour, he was stationed aboard the USS Spiegel Grove. During his working life, Charlie was employed by N.O.W. Inc. an anti-poverty agency in Waterbury, owned several businesses and most recently was employed for many years at Carpin Manufacturing in Waterbury. Charlie's greatest joy was spending time with his family especially at Sunday dinners and holidays. In his later years, another favorite pursuit was cruising on his pontoon boat and occasionally catching fish. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, as well as his generosity and loyalty to friends and family alike.
Besides his devoted wife of 56 years, Joanne, Charlie is survived by his three sons; Charles and his wife, Janet Smith-Ubaldi of Middlebury, Christopher and his wife, Susan also of Middlebury and Marc and his wife, Kerri of Milford. He also leaves his brother, Joseph Ubaldi of Waterbury, his four beloved grandchildren; Andrew, Bailey, Roma and Luca and several nieces and nephews. A great animal lover, Charlie will be greatly missed by his three granddogs; his best friend, Mickey, Snickelfritz and Prince.
Funeral services for Mr. Ubaldi will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. from Eastside Memorial " A Casey Family Funeral Home & Tribute Center" 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Highland Ave Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Charlie's family on Thursday evening from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. To honor Charlie's memory, donations may be made to the Melvin Weinstein Parkinson's Foundation, 2224 Virginia Beach Blvd. Suite 205 Virginia Beach VA 23454
