Beloved husband, father and grandfather
WOLCOTT– Charles “Chuck” E. Ross Jr., age 78, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 19th, 2023, at The Regency House in Wallingford after an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Finnegan) Ross.
Chuck was born February 1, 1945, in Torrington, CT, the son of the late Charles E. Ross, Sr and Jean (Mitchlak) Ross. Chuck was raised in the Waterbury area and attended Crosby High School. He spent several years working at Matzkin Furniture as a truck driver and later began a long career as a route Salesman for Drake Bakeries until his retirement in 2002. He was also an active member of the Teamsters Union. Chuck enjoyed playing cards, fishing & boating, bowling as well as traveling. However, the happiest times in Chuck’s life were the unforgettable moments he had spending time with his wife, sons, grandchildren, and friends.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory, beside his beloved wife of 57 years, are his four sons; James Ross and his wife, Kimberly of Westfield, MA, Richard Ross and his wife, Beatriz of Wolcott, Christopher Ross and his wife, Loren of Verona, NJ and Michael Ross and his wife, Alyssa of Newington. Chuck and Kathleen were blessed with 8 grandchildren; Andrea, Alexis, Lucas, Michael Jr, Nicholas, Julian, Natalia, and Brody, as well as other extended family members and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Ross will be held on Thursday, June 22nd, 2023, from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St., Waterbury, to Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, Saint Leo the Great Church, 14 Bentwood Dr., Waterbury, to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with the Ross family on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until leaving for the service at10:30 a.m. Loving-kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence, words of comfort, or share a memory with the family and friends of someone important to you.
