WATERBURY - Mr. Charles T. Schoonmaker, age 91, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at the Middlebury Convalescent Home after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Julia (Pelosi) Schoonmaker.
Charles was born February 22, 1923 in Waterbury, the son of the late George and Emma (Tofield) Schoonmaker. He was educated in local schools and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a machinist by trade and worked for many years at Waterbury Textron. He was a parishioner of SS. Peter & Paul Church.
He is survived by his two daughters, Karen Palladino and her husband Phillip of Oakville and Susan Favor and her husband Richard of Vermont as well as his grandsons, David Paladino and his wife Elyssa, Brian Palladino and his wife Gina, his great grandchildren Gianna and Sophia. Charles was predeceased by his sister, Harriet Raeburn.
Funeral services for Mr. Schoonmaker will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 10:00 am from Eastside Memorial, "A Casey Family Funeral Home & Tribute Center" 1987 East Main St. Waterbury to SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd. Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am.
