Devoted Mom, Grandmother and sister

OAKVILLE - Charlotte Taylor, age 78 of Oakville, formerly of Waterbury, passed away on March 12, 2025 surrounded by her loving and caring family. She was the widow of John J. “Jack” Taylor.

Charlotte was born on May 26, 1946, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marguerite (Beaudry) Ostuno of Cheshire. She graduated from Cheshire High School and worked as a retail sales representative at Grants Department Store where she met her husband, John. After raising her children, she returned to work as an accounts receivable representative. Charlotte enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to travel, spending many years wintering in Florida with her husband, Jack. Charlotte was an avid cook and baker and could often be seen wearing her apron in the kitchen, preparing meals and treats for her friends and family. Charlotte touched many lives as she was very sociable with a bubbly, vivacious personality making everyone at ease with her infectious laugh and smile. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Charlotte leaves behind her four children; Sharon (Taylor) DiFederico and her husband Anthony of Oakville, Jacqueline (Taylor) Bellemare and her partner George Barnes of Watertown, Patricia (Taylor) Swift and her husband Kenneth of Waterbury, and John D. Taylor of Oakville. She also leaves her six grandchildren; Jessica Swift, Steven and Amanda DiFederico, Justin Bellemare, and Audrey and Olivia Taylor. In addition she leaves her brothers; Joseph Ostuno and his fiancé, Melissa Benfer of Cheshire, David Ostuno of Florida, her sister, Phyllis Ostuno of Wallingford, her brothers; Roger Ostuno of Prospect and Donald Ostuno and his wife, Julie of Watertown, her brother-in-law Kurt Marschner of Meriden, her two sisters-in-law, Margaret (Peggy) Taylor of Waterbury and Natalie Taylor of Cheshire, as well as several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces, and great grand nephews. Charlotte was predeceased by her sister, Linda Marschner of Meriden and her two brothers-in-law, Robert Taylor of Cheshire and Thomas Taylor of Waterbury.

Funeral services for Mrs. Taylor will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Disciples Parish, Saint Mary Magdalen Church, 14 Buckingham Street Oakville. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may pay their respects and visit with Charlotte’s’s family on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at the Casey-O’Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville, CT 06779.
