                                        Devoted to her family

OAKVILLE- It is with profound sadness that the family of Cheryl Ann (Brown) Fayer, age 73, of Oakville, share news of her peaceful passing on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was the widow of Thomas Fayer to whom she was married for 49 wonderful years.

Cheryl was born on June 18, 1951, in Eagle Lake, Maine the daughter of the late Alton and Laurina Brown. Cheryl had a remarkable spirit and found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed planting flowers and spending her summers on her porch, watching the breathtaking sunsets of Maine. Known for her love of music, she would often sing and dance to her favorite oldies, bringing smiles to those around her. She cherished her family deeply, was a devoted mother to Wendy and Thomas Jr., and especially adored her granddaughter, whom she loved to take to K-Mart, which was affectionately known as, “the best store in the world” according to Chelsea. In addition to her human family, Cheryl was a devoted owner of her beloved dogs, Buddy and Buddy Jr., who brought her immense joy and happiness. She will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to love and know her.

Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her children; Thomas Fayer Jr., and Wendy (Paul) Ceryak, her special granddaughter Chelsea, along with extended family and friends. Cheryl was predeceased by her sister, Sandra Thibeault.

Funeral services for Mrs. Fayer will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Disciples Parish, St. John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main Street, Watertown, CT. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may pay their respects and visit with Cheryl’s family on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Casey-O’Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville, CT 06779.
