WATERTOWN -Mr. Chester Fred Capolupo, age 81, of Grandview Ave. passed away on December 24th 2012 at Waterbury Hospital after an extended illness. He was the husband of Jean (Donaghy) Capolupo.
Chester was born April 17th 1931 in Oakville, CT the son of the late Fiore and Carmella (Ciriello) Capolupo. He was educated in local schools and proudly served his country with the Army National Guard as a sergeant during the Korean War Conflict. Prior to his retirement in 1991, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for CL&P for 37 years. He enjoyed being outside and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. He was a member of the Watertown American Legion Post #195. Chester always seemed happiest when he was surrounded by his family while sharing a meal or spending time together during the holidays.
Besides his loving with Jean of 60 years, Chester is also survived by his sons, James Capolupo of Watertown, and David Capolupo of Oakville, his brother, David F. Capolupo of Torrington and his two grandchildren, Lauren and Michael Capolupo. He was predeceased by his brothers, Nicholas, Michael, and John Capolupo and his sister, Teresa Hass.
Services for Mr. Capolupo were held privately at the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main Street Oakville, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown.
