THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF CHRISTINE GRIFFIN
WATERBURY CT - Mrs. Christine M. Griffin, age 86 of Birchfield Dr. Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Middlebury Convalescent Center. She was the widow of John T. "Jake" Griffin.
Christine was born December 24th 1930 in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late William and Bridget (McGuire) Quinn. She was educated in local schools, and was a graduate of Saint Mary's School of Nursing. Christine spent many years working in the Women's and Infants Center at Saint Mary's Hospital where she worked as an obstetrics nurse and spent many years assigned to the delivery room. Christine was always happiest while surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
Christine is survived by her three sons and their wives; Thomas and his wife, Katherine of Waterford, Irelandy, James T. and his wife, Susan Cannata of Waterbury and Patrick and his wife, Gina of Wolcott. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Kathleen Kos of Torrington and her adoring grandchildren, Niall, Kathleen, Jessica, Rocky and Jake. She was predeceased by her siblings, Owen J. Quinn, Timothy J. Quinn, Patricia Quinn and Jetta Quinn.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Griffin will be held on Monday, December 4th, 2017 at 10:30 am from Eastside Memorial, "A CASEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME & TRIBUTE CENTER" 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 605 South Main St Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Rites of committal will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Christine's family on Monday morning from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, to honor Christine's memory, donations may be made to Autism Services and Resources, Connecticut at A.S.R.C 101 North Plains Industrial Rd. Harvest Park, Wallingford, CT 06492.
