AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, OAKVILLE CT ?" Christine M. Pierce, age 68, of Faber Ave. Waterbury, died unexpectedly on Sunday July 5th, at her home. She was the widow of George W. Pierce, who pre-deceased her last October.

Christine was born February 11th 1941, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude (McGrady) Huber. She was a graduate of Watertown High School and was employed for many years at Waterbury Hospital as a Secretary, before her retirement in 1997. Christine was an avid reader, setback player, gardener and sports fan. Her favorite teams included the UCONN Huskies, the Boston Red Sox, and the New England Patriots. Most importantly she was an extremely proud mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners at her home for her family and was a dedicated supporter and fan of all her grandchildren's activities.

Mrs. Pierce is survived by her son, Kevin and his wife Lisa of Thomaston, three daughters; Deborah April and her husband, Adam of Thomaston, Pamela Pinto and her husband, Edward of Bristol and Karen Pierce and her life partner, John Golymbieski of Oakville. Her son, Keith Edward Pierce is deceased. She also leaves two brothers William Huber of Alexandria, VA. and Scott Huber of Woodbury, CT. and her twelve loving grandchildren, Keith, Eric, Shannon, Victoria, Jessica, Chelsey, Chad, Chet, Samantha, Sean, Heather, and James as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pierce will be held on Wednesday, July 8th, 2009, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at Our Lady of Loreto Church, Ardsley Rd. Waterbury at 11:00am. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Family and friends may visit at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street Oakville on Tuesday evening from 4-8pm.
