OAKVILLE- Claire Mary (Girolimon) D'Amico, age 86, died Tuesday June 10, 2014 at Litchfield Woods Healthcare Center. She was the widow of Joseph D'Amico Sr.
Claire was born May 11, 1928 in Torrington, a daughter of the late Mario and Rose (DalPozzal) Girolimon. She grew up in Peabody, MA where she attended local schools before moving to Oakville where she lived for over sixty years. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family.
She leaves three sons, Joseph D'Amico Jr. and his wife Susan of Litchfield, Robert C. D'Amico and his wife Michele of Waterbury, VT, Thomas M. D'Amico of Northfield, a daughter Patricia Horbal and her husband Robert of Thomaston, a brother Louis Girolimon of Peabody, MA, eight grandchildren Thomas Joseph and Anthony Tanganelli, Mark and Matt D'Amico, Dayna Rose and Daniel D'Amico, Lindsay and Madison D'Amico, six great grandchildren Asher Tanganelli, Kaylee and Tino, Vincent Tanganelli, Jessica and Nicholas D'Amico and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Gloria Sahk and a grandson Michael Casale.
Funeral Saturday June 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville CT 06779. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
