WATERBURY - Mrs. Claire (Ricciardi) Tedesco, age 100, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the Cheshire House in Waterbury. She was the widow Arthur N. Tedesco.
Mrs. Tedesco was born in Waterbury CT on February 23, 1921 the daughter of the late Pasquale and Rafaella (DeSantis) Ricciardi. She was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Wilby High School. Claire worked in the banking industry and retired after 30 years of service to first, Waterbury National Bank and then, City Trust and Chase Bank. She was a specialist in the Trust Investment Division. She loved to read the local newspaper every single day from front to back and enjoyed listening to music, eating great food as well as an occasional glass of wine. Claire was a woman of great faith and a longtime parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church. She was a devoted mother and sister and loved to spend time with her family, sharing stories about her life and her family roots. Claire was able to see the joy and opportunity that life gave her even during the most difficult of times. She enjoyed each and every day to the fullest and she made the world a better place for all of us. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy is her daughter, Debbie Tedesco as well as several nieces and nephews and their children. She was the last surviving member of her family having been predeceased by her 3 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral Services for Mrs. Tedesco will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mary Mother of the Church Parish, SS Peter and Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with the Tedesco family on Friday evening from 5:00 till 8:00 PM at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services 1987 East Main St. @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury. Until the greater Waterbury area reaches a 70% threshold of vaccinated population, those visiting the funeral home are requested to remain masked while inside or attending services.
