WOODBURY - Mrs. Clarice Aleandri, 88, formally of Tracy Avenue, Waterbury, passed away peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 30th, 2022 at the home of her son in Woodbury . She was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Nazzareno Aleandri and her daughter Anna Shove.
Clarice was born on October 12th 1933, in Croce Di Casali, Comunanza, Ascoli Piceno, Italy; a daughter of the late Guido and Norina (Morgandi) Virive. She attended school in Italy. She came to the U.S. in 1955 and worked as a seamstress for many Waterbury clothing stores. She also worked as a cook for Westover, St Margaret’s McTernan School, and retired as a Chef from Southmayd Home. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, taking walks with her husband, traveling to visit her family in Italy and touring the United States. Her home was always open to family and friends. There were always a home cooked meal and a glass of homemade wine for visitors or family that stopped by.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are son, Thomas P. Aleandri, his wife Patrizia, and her son-in-law John Shove; her grandchildren Laura and Steven Aleandri, Danielle Pescetelli and her husband, Jesse; Matthew Shove and his wife, Stacy; her cherished great grandchildren Riley, Ryan, Liam, Lucas, and Levi. She leaves her sisters Virginia (Virive`) Cupelli, Vingencina Virive`, her brother Giampietro Virive` and his wife Gabriela Monfasani, and many nieces and nephews in Italy.
Funeral services for Mrs. Aleandri will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to Our Lady of Lourdes Church 309 South Main St to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Clarice’s family on Wednesday morning from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. Loving-kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence, words of comfort, or share a memory with the family and friends of someone important to you.
