Devoted to his family and his faith
WOLCOTT- It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Claude Gerard Talbot age 96, share the news of his unexpected passing on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at St Marys Hospital. He was the husband of the late Anna May (Dunigan) Talbot.
Claude was born on July 12, 1928 in Montmagny, Province de Quebec, Canada, the son of the late Albert and Rosee (Nicole) Talbot. At a very early age, Claude’s family moved to Vermont where the family worked on a dairy farm. He moved to CT in 1965 and proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy. Claude worked for decades at Somers Thin Strip/Olin Corp. One of his most enjoyable hobbies was golfing and he was a talented handyman. He enjoyed the many trips he and his family made back to Vermont to visit. Claude was immensely proud of his Canadian heritage, and he was always a classy, well-dressed gentleman but most of all he was a devoted, husband, father and grandfather. Spending time with his grandchildren was his favorite thing to do. While he was small in stature, he was a giant of everything good, humility, integrity and generosity. Our family thanks you Dad, for the incredible strength and the love that you shared with all of us which has helped instill in us a capacity for love that is unending.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons; Michael and his wife Maureen and Philip and his wife Donna all of Wolcott. Claude and Anna May were honored to raise as their own, their niece, Barbara Adams and their nephews; the late, Richard and Robert Adams. He also leaves Barbara’s partner, Joseph Pilloise, and his niece by marriage, Rosanne Adams. Claude and Anna May were blessed with 8 grandchildren; Adam and his wife Manjie, Jonathan, Alexander, Connor, Tyler and Jacob Talbot and Jeffrey and Kevin Adams. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
