Loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother
PLYMOUTH – Claudette Weis, age 86, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on Thursday, August 17th, at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit at Saint Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Gerald G. Weis.
Claudette was born August 4th, 1937, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Alfred and Mabel (Newport) Bouteillier. Claudette was educated in the Waterbury area and spent a short time working at Waterbury Buckle before dedicating herself to raising her family. Claudette did enjoy dancing but there was nothing more important to her than her family. She always enjoyed cooking and caring for them, making sure that they always had everything they needed. Her children fondly remember that she was content just sitting outside in the yard spending time with her family. A stellar example of grace and class, Claudette was exceptional in almost every way but she excelled the most at being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her sons; Wayne Weis, Steven Weis, with whom she made her home, Alan Weis all of Plymouth and Gary Weis of Florida. She also leaves her siblings; Richard Bouteillier, Delores Barrillo, and Betty Jacavino as well as her six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many other extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Marguerite LaGasse and her other siblings; William Bouteillier, Oliver Bouteillier, Alfred Bouteillier, Barbara Davis, and Marguerite Parent.
A Memorial Gathering for Mrs. Weis will be held on Wednesday, August 23rd 2023 from 5:00 ~ 7:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street Waterbury, CT.
