WATERBURY - Claudina Calderon (Tita) Prado, age 95, loving mother of two and grandmother of four, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the Vitas Inpatient Unit of St. Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of Emilio Calderon.
Claudina was born on January 17, 1926 in Dorado, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Eustaquio Prado and Petronila Rentas. She married Emilio Calderon on December 17,1955 in NYC and had two children; Alex and Davis. She was a devout Lutheran throughout her life. She was an animal lover, an avid bingo player and a zealous fan of the UCONN girls basketball team. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Claudina is survived by her two sons: Alex E. Calderon and Davis Calderon Prado, four grandchildren; Leticia Calderon, Kayla Calderon, Sharina Calderon and Leah Calderon, three great grandchildren; Gabriella Zurita Calderon, Avery Alenckis, and Harvey Lathan. She also leaves to honor her memory and legacy her other sons; Tony Calderon, Raul Calderon, Carmelo Calderon, Gus Olen and daughter Guadalupe Calderon Ocasio that she loved as her own, along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs Calderon will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may visit with Claudina's family on Thursday from 5:00 pm until the service at 7:00 p.m for walk-through visitation only. We are very concerned about everyone's health so all federal and state guidelines relative to COVID #19 will be strictly enforced.
