Beloved Husband, Father, and Son
Bristol – Colin Ruane, age 34 of Bristol, formerly of Beacon Falls and Southbury, CT, passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, on November 29, 2022. He was the loving husband of Mary (Stocking) Ruane and devoted father of Jackson Ruane.
Colin was born on June 28, 1988, in New Haven, CT, the son of John (III) and Katie Ruane. Colin was raised in the Beacon Falls and Southbury areas and was a graduate of Pomperaug High School, class of 2006. He received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Syracuse University. Colin spent several years working for Aris and then Media Links as an IT Supervisor and Project Manager. Colin was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, cooking on the campfire, snowboarding, mountain biking, and hunting. He also enjoyed refurbishing and racing Saabs, working on junk cars, and was a talented woodworker. He will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to cherish his memory and honor his legacy are his wife, Mary, and their son, Jackson, his parents; John and Katie Ruane, his siblings; brother John Ruane IV and his wife Taryn, and his sister Abby Frels and her husband William; his nieces Lila and Adeline Ruane and his nephew Clint Frels; his paternal grandmother, Barbara Ruane and her late husband John Ruane Jr; his maternal grandmother, Bernice Wood and her late husband, Edwin; his mother-in-law, Janet (Lavoie) Stocking and her late husband, Sydney; in addition to several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family members and friends.
A Memorial Gathering for Colin will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street in Waterbury, CT, 06705.
