OAKVILLE - Mrs. Cynthia "Cindy" (Riedl) Deschenes, age 52, of Oakville passed away at her home on Sunday August 10, 2014 surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Michael Deschenes.
Cindy was born November 29, 1961 the daughter of the late Robert Otto and Vera (Vincenzi) Riedl. She was a life-long resident of Oakville and enjoyed shopping, flea markets and short getaways with friends and family. She especially loved working as the Facilities Manager at Post University for the past seven years.
Besides her husband Michael of 34 years, Cindy is survived by her son Michael Deschenes of Oakville, as well as her rescue dog Frannie. She also leaves behind four siblings including Robert Riedl of Oakville, her sister-in-law Lori Joyce and husband Bob of Watertown, one aunt Lorraine Barbieri of Waterbury, her lifelong friend Laura Hoyt and her husband Bruce of Oakville, her cousin Luann Macary whom Cindy would like to thank for the time spent at the doctor's office together. In addition, several nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as her extended Post University Family. "Once An Eagle Always An Eagle".
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday August 16, 2014 directly at Saint Mary Magdalen Church at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to an animal rescue foundation of the donor's choice.
