AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - Cynthia Kellogg Skipp of Southbury, Connecticut and Round Pond, Maine, loving wife of the late Rev. Warren C. Skipp, died Saturday June 6 after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease.
Cynthia Kellogg Skipp was born September 29, 1929, in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Frederic Rice and Lucy Templeton Kellogg; and grand daughter to former Connecticut Governor Charles A. Templeton. She attended St. Margaret's School (Chase Collegiate), in Waterbury, and graduated from Rogers Hall in Lowell, MA. She graduated from Smith College in 1951 and married her husband, Warren, in June 1953. Mrs. Skipp was a board member of the Riverside Cemetery, Waterbury, and had served on the vestry of St. Andrew's Church, Kent. She was an avid gardener and reader, a long-time member of Sexta Feira; and traveled extensively in Europe with her husband. Mrs. Skipp lived in Watertown for the past nine years before moving to The Watermark at East Hill in Southbury.
Mrs. Skipp is survived by her sons, Andrew K. Skipp of Middlebury, David C. Skipp of Leesburg, VA; daughter Lucy S. Craft of Media, PA; and seven grandchildren: Emily and Andrew Skipp of Middlebury; Katherine, Margaret, and James Skipp of Leesburg, VA; and Patrick Fleming and Charlotte Craft of Media, PA. Also surviving are brothers, Charles T. Kellogg, of Watertown; Peter M. Kellogg, of Denver, CO; and sister Judith Kellogg Rowley, of Middlebury as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, June 13 at 3:00 PM at St. Johns Episcopal Church, on the Green in Waterbury. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns Episcopal Church, 16 Church Street, Waterbury, CT 06702.
