Beloved husband, father and grandfather 

 WATERTOWN, CT – Dante Thomas Tartaglia age 96, of Watertown, a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully on Saturday September 14th 2024 at Waterbury Hospital after an extended illness. He was the husband of Betty (Bates) Tartaglia. 

 Dante was born to the late Joseph and Lena (Jamele) Tartaglia on December 11, 1927 in Waterbury, CT. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School and proudly served his country in the US Navy during World War II aboard the USS Latimer. He dedicated numerous years of service as a skilled welder, working at Scovill Manufacturing and retiring from Century Brass. In his leisure hours, he found joy in woodworking, reading, and indulging in rounds of golf. A faithful parishioner of Saint John the Evangelist Church and esteemed member of the Elks Club in Bradenton FL, Dante was a beacon of loyalty and grace to his family and friends. In the wake of his passage, let us remember Dante for his dedication, kindness, and the love he showered upon all those who were fortunate to know him.

 Left to honor his memory and cherish his legacy, besides his wife, Betty of 76 years, he leaves behind cherished memories for his children; Joseph Tartaglia of FL, Roy Tartaglia of FL, David Tartaglia and his wife, Donna of Watertown, Diane Markiewicz and her husband, Michael of Oakville, BettyAnn Cuozzo and her husband Mark of New Hartford and Linda Hogan and her husband David of Watertown. Betty and Dante were blessed with 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, many nieces nephews, cousins, and other extended family members and many friends. He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters as well as his, daughter in law, Evelyn Tartaglia. In reflection of his love, commitment, and unwavering faith, a Funeral Service in honor of Dante Thomas Tartaglia will be held at Holy Disciples Parish - Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, on Thursday September 19, 2024 at 10:00 am. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. There are no calling hours. Burial with full military honors will follow in Mount Olivet Cemtery Watertown.
