PLYMOUTH - David J. Barlow, age 53, of Plymouth, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 6th 2014 at Saint Mary's hospital after a brief illness.
David was born December 28, 1960 in Bridgeport, CT the son of the late George and Shirley (Gelson) Barlow. He was a graduate of Norwalk Technical School and earned his associates degree in engineering from The Bridgeport Engineering Institute. David has spent over 30 years working for United Illuminating Companies most recently serving as a SCADA Engineer. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and a Harley Davidson enthusiast who enjoyed taking long rides on his bike. One of the most important things to David and what brought him the most joy was his daughter Heather, he always made a point to attend her equestrian competitions supporting her in any event that she would compete in.
Among his survivors are his daughter, Heather Barlow of Plymouth, his former wife Darline Barlow of Waterbury, his sisters Darlene Bajko and her husband Ace of Shelton, and Colleen Grotti of Startford, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Barlow will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at 4:00PM. At Eastside Memorial, "A Casey Family Funeral Home & Tribute Center 1987 East Main St Waterbury CT. Burial will be held privately in Saint Michael's Cemetery in Stratford. Friends and relatives may visit with David's family on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 4:00 PM.
