Mr. David T. Cote Jr.

June 25, 1990 — March 27, 2025

Devoted husband, papa, brother, nephew and friend

COLCHESTER – It is with profound sorrow and broken hearts that the family of David Thomas Cote Jr., of Colchester, formerly of Waterbury, share news of the tragic passing of their beloved family hero on March 27, 2025. He was the husband of Katie (LaMadeleine) Cote.

David was born on June 25, 1990, in Waterbury, Connecticut, the son of the late Michelle (Larrivee) Cote. David was a graduate of Wolcott High School and attended Bristol Technical School, where he earned his automotive technician certification and worked as a Master Certified Toyota Technician at Middletown Toyota. In 2021, David relocated to Colchester, Connecticut, with his beloved wife, Katie, to establish their home and start a family. He dreamed of building a self-sufficient farm to nurture and provide for his loved ones. His daughter was the light of his life, bringing joy and purpose to his days, and he cherished every moment spent with her. David enjoyed hunting and fishing, often sharing these passions with family and friends. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, proving himself to be a steadfast brother and a loyal friend. His empathy and kindness touched the lives of many. David will be remembered as a true hero, having faced the unthinkable in his final moments. His legacy as a loving papa, devoted husband, and compassionate friend will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his wife of 13 years, Katie, his daughter, Emiliyah, his sisters; Jessica Cote of Plantsville, and Melissa Cote and her fiancé, Ronald Saade of Waterbury. He also leaves his maternal grandparents Hubert Robert and Barbara Jo (D’Amato) Larrivee, his mother and father-in-law, George and Sandy LaMadeline of Waterbury, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. A Celebration of His Life will be held in David's honor.

The details of his funeral services will be announced in the coming days, inviting all who loved him to gather in remembrance and share their stories of his incredible spirit. In this time of profound loss, we encourage everyone to keep David's family in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this unimaginable tragedy.
