OAKVILLE - David J. Descoteaux, age 72 of Oakville, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2016 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a brief illness. He was the husband of Janet (Harnick) Descoteaux.
David was born in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Harold and Catherine (Carroll) Descoteaux. He proudly served his country with the CT National Guard and was the President of Northeast Contract Eyelets and also worked as a sales associate for many local car dealerships. David was renown as one of the best pool players to ever come out of Waterbury and was one of the most successful and competitive, legendary players. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Watertown Golf Club and Pequabeck Golf Club.
Besides the love of his life, his wife, Janet for the past 51 years, he leaves behind his greatest accomplishments' his son, Richard Descoteaux and his wife, Sherri, his daughter, Danelle Contois and her husband, Herb, his adored grandsons, Ricky Descoteaux II and David Contois. He also leaves sisters, Nancy Culos, Kathy Zimmerman (Harry), and Jerilyn Schvenski (Bruce). Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services for Mr. Descoteaux will be held on Saturday, November 19th, 2016 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Buckingham St., Oakville at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may visit with David's family on Saturday morning at the church from 10:30 am until the time of the service at 11:00am.
