WATERBURY - David W. Ogurick age 61 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday April 13, 2015 surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. He was the husband of Paula (Zasimovich) Ogurick.
David was born February 9, 1954 in New Haven CT the son of the late William and Anna (Campbell) Ogurick. He attended grammar school in New Haven and was a graduate of Wilcox Technical school in Meriden and worked as a Service Technician for SNET for the past 37 years. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War era serving with the US Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea. David loved to spend time outdoors and enjoyed kayaking, hiking, fishing, or just talking a walk along the beach in Cap Cod. He also loved to cook and looked forward to Sunday dinners with his family.
Besides his wife of 36 years, David is survived by his children; Scott Paul Ogurick and his girlfriend Jacklyn, Nicholas Anthony Ogurick and his wife Ashley Ann, Maren Kate Ogurick and her fiancée Jhakarl, all of Waterbury. He also leaves his brothers, Richard Ogurick and his wife Ginny of Cheshire, Dennis Ogurick and his wife Joan of Meriden as well as his grandchildren; Skyla Rae Ogurick-Mendez and Autumn Rain Stenson, in addition to many nieces nephews cousins and extended family.
Funeral services for Mr. Ogurick will be held on Friday April 17, 2015 at 10:30 am at Saints Peter and Paul Church 65 Southmayd Rd Waterbury, CT. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial with full military honors will follow in New Calvary Cemetery Waterbury. Family and friends may visit with David's family on Thursday evening from 5:00 ~ 8:00 pm at Eastside Memorial "A CASEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME AND TRIBUTE CENTER" 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury.
