Waterbury - Debbie L. Kiernan, age 55 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on April 26, 2013 after a long but courageous battle with
ovarian cancer. She was the wife of Pastor Raymond Kiernan.

Debbie was born November 14, 1957 in Waterbury, CT. the daughter of Louise (Cyr) Carpentier of Waterbury, and the late Peter Carpentier. She grew up in the Waterbury area graduated from Crosby High school and worked as a hairdresser for 28 years. Debbie also was a paraprofessional for special educational students for 20 years. For the last ten years, Debbie has helped shepherd and love, along with her husband Pastor Ray, at Christ Church located at 16 Townline Rd in Wolcott, CT.

Debbie's passion and purpose was to mentor people and to equip and encourage them to grow strong in the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a fireball for Jesus leading many people into the Kingdom of God through salvation by faith in Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world.
One of Debbie's favorite things to do for 5 straight years was Friday Night, Movie Night with her beautiful grandson TJ Oliver; Pa, Grandma, and TJ laughing and spending great times together.

Besides her mother Louise and husband of 29 years, Ray, Debbie is survived by her son, Tyson Oliver of Waterbury, her sister, Darlene Paduano and her husband John of Port Jefferson, Long Island, her grandson, Tyson Raymond "TJ" Oliver as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who cared for her and loved her deeply. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr Hoffman's Oncology Team, Bridget's and Nena's VNA Hospice Care Team and all the Caregivers at Christ Church for the compassionate and loving care shared with Debbie throughout her illness.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kiernan will be held on Wednesday, May 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Church of Wolcott, 16 Townline Rd Wolcott, CT. Relatives and friends may visit with Debbie's family at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00am till 11:00 am. Rites of committal will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. Eastside Memorial, "A CASEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME & TRIBUTE CENTER" has been entrusted to assist the family with the arrangements.
