WATERBURY- Ms. Debra Ann Calabrese, 51, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 6th, 2019 at her home.
Debra was born in Waterbury on February 12, 1968, the daughter of Robert Calabrese and the late Nancy (Quinnan) Calabrese. She worked at Southbury Training School for over ten years as a MRW 1. Debra was a very loving and caring woman. She treasured spending time with her family and had a great sense of humor and could fill a room with laughter. She loved to cook and bake and made a delicious stuffed meatloaf, her daughter's favorite! She will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Debra leaves behind her daughter, Alyssa Tozzi of Oakville; her father and step-mother Robert and Margaret Calabrese of Waterbury; her two sisters, Lorie Caruso of Florida and Tina Mauriello of Thomaston; a brother-in-law, Alfredo Mauriello of Thomaston; her aunt, Marie Martin of Waterbury; her uncle and aunt, John and Susan Calabrese of South Carolina, as well as several cousins, four nieces, two nephews, and three great-nieces.
Funeral services for Ms. Calabrese will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main St, Watertown, CT 06795 to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial. Those who are planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Debra's family on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd in Waterbury. In lieu of flowers, to honor Debra's memory, the family has created a GoFundMe page for Debra to help with the cost of the funeral services.
