Devoted Aunt to Many
SOUTHBURY- It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Denise Pratt, age 88, announce her peaceful passing on Wednesday, August 27th, 2024, at The Monarch in Southbury.
Denise was born on July 29th, 1936, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Hector and Isabelle (Bernier) Pratt. She was educated in local schools and spent most of her career as a Chemical Analyst for Uniroyal in Naugatuck. She enjoyed golfing in many leagues, playing cards, traveling, family gatherings, listening to music, and dancing the polka. She loved the beach and spent many summers at Ortley Beach, New Jersey with her family. Denise loved animals, especially dogs and birds and was always the life of every party, especially while playing Pictionary with her beloved family. Denise will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to cherish her memory are her nephews and nieces and their families; Ken Creem (wife Frances) of Wolcott; Thomas Creem (wife Jeanne) of Watertown; Cathy Riefenhauser (husband Mark) of Southbury; Nancy Creem of Pensacola, FL; Carol Caldwell (husband Mike) of Calhoun, GA; Joan Schnorf (husband Cole) of Ellicott City, MD; Bill Pratt (wife Cathy) of Raleigh, NC; Dave Pratt (wife Gratia) of Alpharetta, GA; Mary Banks (husband Sherman) of Dunwoody, GA; and Amy Cole (husband Greg) of Suwanee, GA. Denise also leaves her lifelong friend, Lydia Rutkowski of Waterbury and many golf league buddies. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert (Bob) Pratt and sister-in-law, Ida Pratt of Atlanta, Georgia, and her sister, Claire Piel of Southbury.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place on Saturday, September 14th, 2024, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. with a service at 1:30 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Center 1987 East Main St. Waterbury 06705. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
