Dedicated Nurse, devoted wife, mother and grandmother
WATERBURY - Denise June Schultze age 68 of Waterbury passed away peacefully on December 26, 2021 at St Mary's Hospital after an extended illness. She was the wife of Dennis Schultze.
Denise was born on December 2, 1953, in Hutchinson Kansas, the daughter of the late Arthur and June (Schafer) Legge. She received her associates degree in nursing in Bennington VT and worked in the skilled nursing facility industry throughout CT. Denise found great satisfaction in nursing and caring for others. She was an avid Disney fan but had a special connection with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. She enjoyed reading, visiting with the neighbors' dogs enjoying a warm cup of tea but above all else she was a devoted, wife, mother, sister and grandmother who was always happiest being surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory besides her husband are her sons; Dana, Devon and Drew Schultze, her beloved grandchildren: Lily and Quinn Schultze, her brother, Arthur Legge Jr, sister, Colleen Spieler and her husband Michael, niece, Lynnette Guida, Nephew, Kurtis Spieler, great nephew, Harley Guida. She also leaves her husband's family: sister-in law, Susan Washburn and her husband Steve and their children Steve, Jared, Ashley, Brother-in -law Kurt Schultze and his wife, Lisa and their children, Sarah, Michael sister-in-law, Tammy Bishop and her husband Howard and their children, Caleb and Zachary. Denise was predeceased by her sister, Deborah Legge.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Schultze will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Basil the Great Parish, St Pius X Church, 525 Woodtick Rd Wolcott. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the Schultze family on Monday evening January 3, 2022 from 5:00 till 7:00 pm at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremations Services 1987 East Main St Waterbury CT. We continue to remain very concerned about the ongoing pandemic so masks will be required during all indoor services whether or not you are vaccinated.
