WATERBURY- Dennis Richard, age 67, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, March 4th 2020.
Dennis was born March 14th 1952 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Andre and Claire (Cyr) Richard. He graduated from St Anne's Grammar School and attended Kennedy High School and spent many years working as a lathe operator at Ansonia Copper and Brass until his retirement. Dennis enjoyed spending time outdoors especially taking long hikes in the woods. He also was an avid NFL fan whose team would always win the super bowl because he would always say: his favorite team was "the one who won." Dennis will be remembered for his quick witted and unique sense humor. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left behind are his brother, Mark Richard and his sister, Linda Richard both of Waterbury. He also leaves his longtime friend and companion, Gina Gordon of Watertown as well as his stepmother, Antoinette Richard of Hamden, his stepbrother, Robert Skowronski and his wife, Karen of Killingworth and his stepsister, Elaine Vivero and her husband, Patrick also of Killingworth. In addition, he leaves his nieces and nephews; Stephanie and her husband Edward, Robin, Laura, Matthew and Christine. He also leaves many great nieces and nephews as well as other extended family members and many friends.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Richard will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Dennis's family on Saturday from 11:00am until the service at 12:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, to honor Dennis's memory, donations to his favorite animal shelter, Brass City Rescue Alliance, 2 Service Rd, Middlebury, CT 06762, would be greatly appreciated.
