WATERBURY - Diane K. (Opuszynski) Dugan, age 57 of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday July 5, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Gerald A. Dugan Sr.
Diane was born in Derby CT on October 28, 1957 the daughter of Jean (Hill) Opuszynski and the late Walter Opuszynski. She was a graduate of Naugatuck High School and was employed at the Waterbury Hospital in the Birthing Center as an Hospitality Associate. Diane was an avid Horse Enthusiast, won several awards, trophies and ribbons for her many competitions including Barrel racing and other equine activities. She was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother with many special and loyal friends
Besides her husband Gerald, Diane leaves three sons, Gerald A. Dugan Jr. and his wife Caitlin and their special daughter and the pride of Diane's eye, Ashyln Rose Dugan of Bristol, Jason Dugan of Waterbury and John J. Dugan of Danbury. She also leaves her siblings; Walter Opuszynski and his wife Jeri of Beacon Falls, Susan Kean and her husband Bob of Beacon Falls and Sharon Peters and her husband Phil of Oxford as well as several nieces and nephews. Diane will be sadly missed by her best friends and pets, Brooklyn, Lillie and Whiskers.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Dugan will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 9:30 am at St. Francis Xavier Church 625 Baldwin St. Waterbury. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Diane's family on Thursday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at EASTSIDE MEMORIAL "A Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center," 1987 East Main St., Waterbury.
