WATERBURY - Ms. Diane M. O'Donnell, age 62 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 2nd 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a brief illness.
Diane was born January 20th 1959 in Freeport, Long Island, NY, the daughter of Yvonne (Desroches) Godsil and the late William P. Godsil. Diane was raised and educated in the East End of Waterbury and spent many years working as a waitress for various restaurants in the area and also worked as a teller at the Waterbury O.T.B. Diane loved animals especially her dogs and enjoyed spending time at the beach especially in Old Lyme. What brought the greatest joy to Diane was spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory, besides her mother, are her daughters; Michelle Marcano and her husband, Julio of Oakville, and Lisa O'Donnell and her partner, Jason Hall of Waterbury. She also leaves her brothers; Michael Godsil of Naugatuck, Paul Godsil and Richard Godsil both of Waterbury. She also leaves her four grandchildren and three great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her fiancé of 25 years, Robert Sylvester and her sister, Michelle Godsil.
Relatives and friends may visit with Diane's family on Monday, November 8th from 5:00- 7:00pm at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of her family. We continue to remain concerned about the ongoing pandemic so masks will be required during all indoor services whether you are vaccinated or not.
