WATERBURY - Dilip Katkar, age 69 of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly at home
on Sunday, January 8, 2017.
Dilip was born August 21, 1947 in Barsi, India, the son of the late Keshav G. and Kusum
(Utgikar) Katkar. He attended Mumbai University in India where he earned a Bachelor of
Science degree and then University of Bridgeport where he earned a Master's degree in
Business Accounting. After many years working in business management with Union
Camp and Gulf Corporation, he enjoyed his retirement with epic trips to India and China.
Football, specifically the NY Giants, and cooking were his favorite pastimes throughout
his life. Dilip was a proud father and brother, and he will be dearly missed by all who
knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Ravi Katkar and his wife, Rachel of Dobbs
Ferry, NY; his two daughters, Rachana and Shilpa Katkar, both of Waterbury; his beloved
brother, Kirtikumar Katkar and his wife, Vanita of White House Station, NJ; and his
sister, Sandhya Davé and her husband, Bharat of San Mateo, CA; and close friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Katkar will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at
Casey's Eastside Memorial Home, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd., Waterbury.
Family and friends may visit with Dilip's family on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until
