Dolores Nole

May 27, 1927 — January 6, 2016

WATERBURY - Mrs. Dolores (Spagnolo) Nole, 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on Wednesday January 6, 2016. She was the wife of the late Edmund L. Nole.

Dolores was born in Florida but within a year the family moved back to Waterbury where she remained a Fairlawn resident for the rest of her life. She was the daughter of Albert and Dolores (Parisi) Spagnolo who instilled in her a deep appreciation for family, friends and community. She was predeceased by her sister, Yola Somma, with whom she held a special bond.

Dolores did office work for the Red Cross during and after WWII, and later worked in the Rectory Office of SS. Peter and Paul Church until her retirement. Thereafter she regularly volunteered at Hartford Archdiocese Office of Radio and Television and at St. Mary's Hospital library where she enjoyed learning new skills. A long time parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church, she was an active member of the Madonna Guild.

Throughout her life she enjoyed travel, especially to her beloved Italy. She loved her timeshare in Stowe, VT but most of all she loved her own backyard in Waterbury with the woods and pond view that was enjoyed at so many gatherings on her porch.

Dolores is survived by a daughter, Lisa (Nole) Poirier and her husband, Rennie of Colchester and their daughter, Chelsea; and by her son, Gregory Nole and his wife, Stacie of Naugatuck, and their daughters; Sarah Kinsley and her husband Dan, and Katherine Nole. She was predeceased by her son, Jeffery Nole. Aunt Do leaves behind a large and loving family of cousins, nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Alex Nole of Wolcott, who did so much to support her.

The family would like to thank her two wonderful caregivers, Isabel Duverge and Mervis Anderson for the great compassion they provided. Because of her aides, VNA, and support of her family and friends, Dolores was able to live her final years comfortably at home till the very end.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nole will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury at 10:30 a.m. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet at the church.
