AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - Domenic A. "Junior" Aurio age 64 of Tucker Ave., Oakville, peacefully passed from this life on August 31, 2009 surrounded by his loving and supportive family and friends after a long, courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Domenic, known to friends as Junior or Dom to his family and friends, was the fourth son born to the late Domenic and Angeline (Longo) Aurio Sr. of Oakville on March 23, 1945. Dom was a graduate of Watertown High School. After graduation, Dom joined the US Navy and proudly served his country while stationed in Italy during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he worked at Scovill Manufacturing and various other manufacturing companies until his retirement in 2002. Junior was an active member of the Northeast Ursamen Social Club. He then began his new career as a full time caregiver to children. Junior was the best "Mr. Mom" any child could be lucky enough to have. He was gentle, kind and loving and children adored him.

Besides his husband and lifetime partner, Steve Blenus, Junior leaves his loving brothers Francis Aurio and his wife Joan of Waterbury, Anthony Aurio and his wife Alma of Waterbury, Thomas Aurio and his wife Ann of Wolcott, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, many loving cousins who were a big part of his life and many devoted friends. He was predeceased by his nephew, Thomas Aurio Jr., and his Bichon Frise Natie. Junior will be missed by all and never forgotten.

Funeral Thursday at 8 a.m. from the O'Neill Funeral Home to Saint Mary Magdalen Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. Friends may call at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury CT 06708.
