WATERBURY- Domenic John Daddona III, 58, of Waterbury, CT has acquired a new address: Gate One, Heavens Row, He entered the "Life Beyond Life" surrounded by his loving, devoted mother, Barbara and his loving brother, Jim on Saturday morning, May 10, 2014 at Saint Mary's Hospital VITAS Unit.
Domenic was born October 4, 1955 in Waterbury, CT. He was the son of Barbara (Stack) Daddona and the late Domenic (Shine) Daddona Jr. He was the grandson of the late Domenic and Rose Daddona and the late Thomas and Anna Stack.
Domenic lived for his family. He enjoyed music, especially the Beatles. He loved playing his tambourine and enjoyed picnics, the park and swimming. He relaxed with his favorite TV shows, movies and sports and was an avid New York Yankees fan. Dom always looked forward to Thursday pasta & meatball dinners.
Domenic is survived by his brother, Richard and his wife Mary; his sister, Rosanne, with whom he made his home; his sister, Barbara Walsh and her husband Pat; his sister, Cheryl Harkins; his brother, Thomas Daddona and his wife Lynn; his sister, Maryann McKay and her husband Vinny and his brother, James Daddona and his wife Maria.
Besides his brothers and sisters, Domenic is survived by his fun loving nieces and nephews: Lisa, Tom Jr., Lauren, John, Erica, Paula, Ryan, Michael, Sarah, Amanda, Katilyn, Kyle, Joey, and Courtney. In addition, Dom leaves his great nieces and nephews: Maryn, Jay, Aubrey, Brenden, Eriana, Amelia and Dylan as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Domenic was predeceased by his aunt Jay, Aunt Dorothy, Aunt Elaine, Aunt Marilyn, and his uncle Jim, whom he loved dearly.
Domenic's family would like to thank the following: Crosby High School's Healing Shawl Club for the beautiful shawl which brought him such comfort, smiles and hugs; Evelyn McKay for her unwavering support: Rick Macomber for his wisdom; Geri MacDonald for friendship; Ken Dunn who means the world to us; the Hales, Benson, Horan, Leonard, Baker and Petrario families who have been heaven sent. To Dom's angels, Lucinda Collette and the Vitas Hospice Team, thank you all. And to Dom's new friend Cindy, we hope you know the joy Dom found in your companionship.
A celebration of Domenic's life will be held at Eastside Memorial "A Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center" 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury, CT 06705 on Tuesday, May 13th 2014 from 5:00-7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 14th 9:30 am from the funeral home to Saints Peter and Paul Church 56 Southmayd Rd when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am. Committal services will follow in All Saints Cemetery Waterbury. Donations in Domenic's memory may be made to the St Jude's Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
