WATERBURY - Dominic Mastrofrancesco age 95 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love and comfort of his family on Tuesday, September 14th 2021. He was the husband of the late Tillie (Krampitz) Mastrofrancesco.
Dominic was born on November 25th 1925 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Angelo and Marietta (Panelli) Mastrofrancesco. Dominic was a lifelong Waterbury resident, graduated from Leavenworth High School and proudly served his country with the United States Navy during World War II.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a traffic manager at Risdon Manufacturing. During his youth, Dominic participated in several Olympic style gymnastics including Power Lifting, Rings and the Pommel Horse. Anyone who knew Dominic probably received one of his custom designed handcrafted cards that everyone looked forward to. He would always take the time to hand draw and customize each card for every special occasion. He enjoyed gardening and spending time in his yard but was always happiest while surrounded by his family and will be remembered for his kind heart and for being the patriarch of his family. Dominic and his family were lifelong parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory, are his children; sons, Angelo "A.J" Mastrofrancesco and his wife, Gale of Wolcott, Michael Mastrofrancesco and his wife, Sharon of Watertown, his daughter, Donna Ketchum and her husband, David of Waterbury and daughter in law, Brenda Mastrofrancesco. He also leaves his sister Angie DiGiovancarlo. his 9 cherished grandchildren and 1 great grandson as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Debra, his son, Robert and his brothers, Anthony and Daniel Mastrofrancesco.
Funeral Services for Mr. Mastrofrancesco will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury, CT 06705. to Our Lady of Lourdes Church 309 South Main St Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Dominic's family on Thursday evening from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. We continue to remain concerned about the ongoing pandemic so masks will be required during all indoor services whether you are vaccinated or not.
